Why does UkeAbility exist?

I wanted to discover new songs, using chords I already knew. Also, I wanted to better use the terrific books that are available for the ukulele.

What ukulele should I use to play these chords?

The chord diagrams are for instruments tuned in the key of C. C is the standard tuning of soprano, concert and tenor ukuleles.

Why don't you have more books available?

I plan on adding more books as time comes available. If you'd like to help out or suggest a book, please contact me at joe.weiss@gmail.com.

Do you have any connection to the books, their authors or the book publishers?

No, I'm just a big fan who would like to see people make the most of the books. This is an educational resourse for myself and others.

How do you pay for the hosting of this site?

This a gift to the wonderful world-wide ukulele community. I use this site myself to help me find songs to play. I hope you'll find it useful as well.

Do I need an account? Where are my chords and songs favorites saved?

No account is needed, though it is recommended. Without an account, all of your data is stored in your browser's local storage. If you'd like to save your data on our site, you can register for a free account. This allows you to sync or move your data to a new device, or to recover your data if your browser's local storage cache is ever cleared.

How do I create an free account?

Sign up on the registration page. UkeAbility doesn't have passwords. Enter your email address below and you'll receive a link to sign in again.

What tech is used on the site?

VueJS, Django, Zappa, and Bootstrap. The site is hosted using AWS Lambda and RDS.
